# BTRC-631: Cross-chain interoperability protocols

We are developing the BTRC-20 protocol as the basis for building the BTRC-631 protocol on BitTorrent. Taking advantage of the BitTorrent ecosystem's convenient cross-chain functionality, we aim to enable the interaction and transfer of inscriptions from different chains. This will support cross-chain transfer of inscriptions from other chains via the BTRC-631 protocol deployed on BitTorrent, allowing inscriptions to flow freely beyond the confines of public blockchain barriers while ensuring that the original data of the inscription remains intact.
